A Proud Journey: From Our Little ‘Momo’ to a Beacon of Service – Dr Dipu Siddiqui

My cousin’s daughter, nicknamed Momo , grew up in the city of Mymensingh. Momo’s father is a retired military officer. She passed the BCS examination with distinction and now serves as an Assistant Tax Commissioner in Lebukhali, Patuakhali.

Today, as I see the same little girl standing beside my two cousins, I am overwhelmed with memories. “Momo”—a name that once symbolized belonging within a small circle—has grown to represent much more. Now, she is cherished by all who know her. Today, the nation proudly says, “Momo is ours.” This beloved daughter, nurtured with love and care by her parents, is now serving in a distant corner of Bangladesh, contributing to the nation’s welfare.

A Proud Journey: From Our Little ‘Momo’ to a Beacon of Service

Once, she was just a lively little girl, full of energy. I recall carrying her in my arms as Juel and I went to the local shop from Khalamma’s house in Basabo. Back then, I could feel the physical weight of her. Now, I marvel at the weight of her knowledge and responsibilities. It’s truly incredible. I’m not sure if we’ve met since then, but thanks to social media, it feels as though I’ve witnessed her growthand development throughout the years. In this digital age, that’s how we all grow alongside each other.

Seeing Apa and Nazmul vai with her beloved daughter today brought back so many fond memories. We are so proud of her, and as we watch her continue on this path, we pray for her future success. With her wisdom and dedication, I believe our dear little girl will one day rise to even greater heights—perhaps as a secretary, advisor, or something beyond what we can imagine. May Allah continue to bless her journey.
