Shadab Hasin,DHAKA: The official launch of Kanak Publications and the unveiling ceremony of its first published book, ‘Tumi Khujo Jare, Sheo Khujichhe Tomare’ (The one you are seeking is also seeking you.), was successfully held on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The event, held at the publisher’s office in Purba Rajabazar, was presided over by Publisher Lily Rahman.
The event was graced by the presence of renowned educationist and Vice-Chancellor of Royal University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. ANM Meshkat Uddin, as the Chief Guest.
Kanak Publications embarked on its journey in the publishing world with the Sufi novel written by Professor Dr. Anisur Rahman Faruque of the University of Vaasa, Finland. Professor Faruque is globally renowned for his research in international business, with over a hundred published articles. This professor, a recipient of the Double Stand and President’s Gold Medal in Bangladesh, holds two PhD degrees and is currently invited as a Visiting Professor at Harvard University.
In the book unveiling ceremony, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Meshkat Uddin highly praised the novel, stating that there is no other book like it in the history of Bengali literature. As the author’s former teacher, he reminisced and expressed hope that Dr. Faruque would take Bengali literature to the world stage in the near future by writing in English.
Several other dignitaries were present at the event. Mr. David, a prominent Taiwanese businessman, drew attention at the end of the ceremony by purchasing 5 copies of the book for his Bangladeshi friends.
