Dhaka, May 25, 2024 — Bangiya Sahitya Sangskriti Samsad organized a day-long program at the Engineers Institution Bangladesh-IB Auditorium, Ramna, Dhaka, celebrating the 163rd birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and the 125th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The event commenced at 11 AM with a ceremony for Tagore, attended by Bangladesh Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP, as the chief guest. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor ASM Maqsood Kamal inaugurated the ceremony, presided over by the organization’s president, Selina Hossain.
Later at 5 PM, the celebration of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birth anniversary included distinguished guests such as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Education and Culture, Dr. Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury, and Professor Ahmed Reza, among others. Various cultural performances and a felicitation of painters by the Kingdom of Small Talents – KPR were also part of the event.
