প্রেসওয়াচ রিপোর্ট:৮ জুন ২০২৪, শনিবার সকাল ১১:০০ টায় রয়েল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ঢাকা’য় ৬দফা দিবস উপলক্ষে ‘ঐতিহাসিক ৬ দফা ও স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়’ শীর্ষক আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
রয়েল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ঢাকা’র উপাচার্য বরেণ্য ইতিহাসবিদ অধ্যাপক ড. মেসবাহ কামালের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত এসভায় প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন প্রথম আলো পত্রিকার যুগ্ম সম্পাদক সোহরাব হাসান ।
বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে আলোচনায় অংশ নেন রয়েল ইউনিভার্সিটির রেজিস্ট্রার ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অব.) মুশফিকুর রহমান ও পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক অধ্যাপক আমিরুল আলম খান।
সিনিয়র সাংবাদিক সোহরাব হাসান বলেন, ৬ দফা শুধু পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের জনগণের স্বাধিকারের জন্য ছিল না;পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের নিপীড়িত নির্যাতিত মানুষের জন্যও ছিল আশার আলো। তিনি আরো বলেন, ছয় দফা সকল অন্যায় অবিচারের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াবার এবং শোষণবিরোধী, সমতাভিত্তিক সমাজ প্রতিষ্ঠা করার প্রেরণা যোগায়।
আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠানের সভাপ্রধান রয়েল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ঢাকার উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মেসবাহ কামাল বলেন,জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ঘোষিত ৬-দফাকে বলা হয় বাঙালির ম্যাগনাকার্টা বা মুক্তির সনদ। তিনি বঙ্গবন্ধুর উদ্ধৃতি দিয়ে বলেন, ছয় দফা সম্পর্কে স্বয়ং বঙ্গবন্ধু বলতেন, ‘সাঁকো দিলাম, স্বাধিকার থেকে স্বাধীনতায় উন্নীত হওয়ার জন্য।’ মূলত ৬-দফা ছিল আমাদের মহান স্বাধীনতাসংগ্রামের বীজমন্ত্র তথা অঙ্কুর। ১৯৬৬ সালে ৫ ও ৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি লাহোরে সম্মিলিত বিরোধী দলসমূহের এক কনভেনশনে অংশগ্রহণ করে বাঙালি নেতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বাংলার জনগণকে বৈষম্যের হাত হতে রক্ষা ও বাঙালিদের অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক মুক্তির লক্ষ্যে ৬ দফা দাবি উত্থাপন করেন।
তিনি আরো বলেন,ছাত্র সংগ্রাম পরিষদের এগারো দফা দাবির মধ্যে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ৬ দফা দাবির ব্যাপক প্রতিফলন ঘটেছে।
অধ্যাপক কামাল ,১৯৬৬ সালের ৭ জুনে মনু,শফিক, সামসুল হকসহ শহীদদের স্মৃতি রক্ষার তাগিদ দেন। তিনি বলেন, তাঁদের বীরত্বগাথা ও ত্যাগের মহিমা আমাদের জানতে হবে।
ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল (অব.)মুশফিকুর রহমান বলেন, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের সুচিন্তিত রাজনৈতিক প্রজ্ঞার প্রতিফলন ছিল ছয় দফায়। যা স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়ে যুগান্তকারী মন্ত্রণা হিসেবে কাজ করে। ৬ দফা বাস্তবায়নে নিজ দলের বিরোধিতাকে কৌশলে পাশ কাটিয়ে জনগণের আস্থা অর্জন করেছিলেন বঙ্গবন্ধু।
৬ দফা আন্দোলনের মধ্য দিয়ে অঙ্কুরিত হয় স্বাধীনতার স্বপ্নবীজ। ৬ দফা ভিত্তিক আন্দোলন-সংগ্রামের ধারাবাহিকতায় বাঙালির স্বাধিকার আন্দোলন স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে রূপ নেয়।
অধ্যাপক আমিরুল আলম খান ছয় দফার ইতিহাস তুলে ধরে বলেন,৬-দফা আন্দোলনের কারণে বাঙালি তার আত্মপরিচয়ের সন্ধান লাভ করে। শহর-নগর ও গ্রাম-গঞ্জের বৃহত্তর মানুষ এই আন্দোলনে সম্পৃক্ত হয়।
আলোচনা সভাটি সঞ্চালনা করেন কলা অনুষদের ড. দিপু সিদ্দিকী। আলোচনা সভায় ইংরেজি বিভাগের চেয়ারপারসন জহরত আরা, বিজনেস অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশনের চেয়ারম্যান মুরাদ হাসান, হোটেল ম্যানেজমেন্ট এন্ড টুরিজম ডিপার্টমেন্টের চেয়ারম্যান মলয় কুমার সরকার, সহযোগী অধ্যাপক সালমা হানি, সহকারি অধ্যাপক মালবিকা মজুমদার, সহকারি অধ্যাপক মনোয়ারা মেমি, প্রভাষক রিপা সরকার, শিক্ষা বিভাগের কোঅর্ডিনেটর আসাদুল ইসলাম সহ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন বিভাগের শিক্ষক কর্মকর্তা কর্মচারীবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
Seminar held at Royal University on ‘Historic 6 Points and the Rise of Independent Bangladesh’
On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am, a seminar titled ‘Historic 6 Points and the Rise of Independent Bangladesh’ took place at Royal University of Dhaka to commemorate 6 Points Day.Sr Journalist and writer Sohrab Hasan, Joint Editor of Prothom Alo newspaper, served as the chief guest and key-note speaker at the seminar chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Royal University of Dhaka, historian Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal.
Royal University Registrar Brigadier General (Retd.)ASM Mushfiqur Rahman and Controller of Examinations Professor Amirul Alam Khan participated as dicussants. Senior journalist Sohrab Hasan remarked that the 6 points were pivotal not only for East Pakistan’s freedom but also offered hope to the oppressed in West Pakistan, advocating for resistance against injustices to establish an anti-exploitative, egalitarian society.
Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal, Vice-Chancellor of Royal University of Dhaka, described Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 6 points as the Magna Carta of Bengalis. He emphasized that these points were the seeds of the nation’s freedom struggle.
Reflecting on the historical significance, Brigadier General (Retd.)ASM Mushfiqur Rahman underscored the political acumen of Bangabandhu in formulating the 6 points, which played a crucial role in the development of independent Bangladesh.
Professor Amirul Alam Khan highlighted the historical context of the 6 points, noting how they helped in shaping Bengali self-identity and engaging people from all walks of life in the movement.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and attended by various faculty members including the Chairperson of the Department of English Associate Professor Jahrat Ara, Chairperson of the Department of HMT Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration Associate Professor Murad Hasan, Associate Professor Malay Kumar Sarkar, Assistant Professor Malobika Majumder, Assistant Professor Manowara Memi, Coordinator of the Department of CSE Ms Ripa Sarkar, Coordinator of the Department of Education Mr Asadul Islam, and others from different departments of the university .
