JANIPOP’s Seminar Highlights Efforts to Fulfill Vision of Bangabandhu on National Mourning Day

Mst.Irin Nahar:In a seminar marking National Mourning Day on August 15, 2023, the 747th session of the seminar dedicated to Bangabandhu’s political philosophy was convened. The virtual seminar, hosted on Zoom Webinar by Janipop, was presided over by Prof. Dr. Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Founder Chairman of Janipop. The occasion saw the participation of esteemed figures including Imam Hossain Majumdar, a prominent Awami League leader from New Jersey,USA who was the chief guest, and Professor Dr. Jebounnessa of Jahangirnagar University, who attended as the guest of honor.


During his address, Dr. Kalimullah paid homage to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He emphasized the importance of transforming sorrow into strength and actively working towards realizing Bangabandhu’s ideals and aspirations.


Dr. Zebounnessa delved into Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s life philosophy, illuminating the insights found within her published works. Imam Hossain Majumdar underscored the tragic loss of Bangabandhu and his family as an attempt to erase the spirit of the liberation war.


Distinguished individuals like Phd researcher Fatimatuz-Zohra Lima from Jaldhaka, Nilphamari, along with Ferdous Wahid Bappi and Saiful Islam Khan, National Volunteers of Janipop, graced the occasion as special guests.


The speakers united in demanding justice for the assassination of Bangabandhu, urging that those responsible be held accountable under the law and face exemplary punishment. The seminar was  conducted by Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, Country Director of the Bangabandhu Commission and Chairman of the Departed of Education Royal University of Dhaka as well as an Associate Professor and the Editor of Daily Presswatch.


The event also featured contributions from notable attendees like Shafiul Basshar, an engineer affiliated with Dhaka University, Dr. Bayezida Farzana from Brahmanbaria, and Dr. Mahbubul Haque from Rajshahi, adding depth and resonance to the discussion.
