Charting New Horizons: RUD VC Motivates Next-Gen Hotel & Tourism Professionals

Staff Reporter: Dhaka, 20 April: As part of Royal University of Dhaka’s continuous development initiatives, the esteemed Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. A.N.M. Meshquat Uddin, held an interactive session today at 2 PM with students of the Department of Hotel and Tourism.

 

During the open discussion, the Vice Chancellor attentively listened to the students’ challenges, aspirations, and suggestions. He assured prompt resolution of academic concerns and encouraged students to remain committed to both academic and professional excellence.

 

“Each student is a brand ambassador of the university,” the VC stated. “Your success uplifts the university’s reputation and prestige.” He urged students to attend classes regularly and engage deeply with their studies. He emphasized that today’s learners will serve as future inspirations and role models, encouraging the next generation to join the department.

 

The students expressed their gratitude and were visibly inspired by the VC’s thoughtful words. They thanked him for patiently listening to their voices and later welcomed him with flowers on behalf of the newly formed Cultural Club’s president and general secretary. They reaffirmed their commitment to regular attendance and attentive learning, pledging to actively contribute to all positive university initiatives and take a leading role against any conspiracies that threaten the institution.

 

Also present at the session was Professor Dr. Dipu Siddiqui, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. He urged the students to become not just exam-takers, but true learners enriched with knowledge, skills, and ethical values. He highlighted the visionary leadership and educational dedication of the Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. HBM Iqbal.

 

He further announced that meritorious students of Royal University of Dhaka will be offered internship and employment opportunities at internationally recognized five-star hotels under the Premier Group. Students were encouraged to begin preparations immediately to secure these opportunities upon graduation.

 

In addition, Professor Siddiqui discussed international collaboration, revealing that

with the support of university advisor and international scholar Dr. Emadul Islam, a promising pathway is being developed for skilled graduates to work in Japan’s hotel and tourism industry. He advised students to achieve at least Japanese Language Proficiency Level 2 to qualify for these opportunities and access high-standard jobs in Japan’s domestic market.

 

This interactive session sparked fresh motivation among the students and strengthened their connection with the university administration.
