Shadab Hasin’s report, Dhaka : At the 15th National Annual Quality Convention on Education, organized by the Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM) on 14 November 2025, two Student Quality Control Circle (SQCC) teams from the Pharmacy Department of the University of Science and Technology achieved remarkable success by winning the Gold and Silver awards.
To celebrate this achievement, a reception ceremony was held on 18 November 2025 in the university’s Digital Conference Room, where the award-winning teams were formally honored.
The ceremony was graced by the university’s Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Azizul Haque as the Chief Guest. Acting Registrar Md. Zakir Hossain attended as the Special Guest. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. A. F. M. Nazmus Sadat, Chairman of the Pharmacy Department, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Director of IQAC.
In his speech, the Acting Vice-Chancellor stated that this achievement by the Pharmacy students is a matter of pride not only for the department but for the entire university. He expressed hopes that students from all departments will be inspired to participate in national and international programs and contribute to improving the overall quality of education.
Students also shared their experiences from the competition, including their journey to securing the Gold and Silver awards. Deans of various faculties, department chairpersons, teachers, students, administrative officials, and staff were present at the event.
It is noteworthy that Professor Dr. A. F. M. Nazmus Sadat served as the Convenor of the convention and delivered the Keynote Speech. Additionally, Ms. Afroza Sultana, Assistant Professor of the Pharmacy Department, served as a Session Judge.
It may be mentioned that in Bangladesh’s private education sector, distinguished social worker, educationist, Member of Parliament, and valiant Freedom Fighter Dr. HBM Iqbal is the founder of two universities.
He established Royal University of Dhaka in Tejgaon, Dhaka, and Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology in Bhairab, Kishoreganj.
A visionary entrepreneur, he has also founded several other institutions, including Premier Bank School and College. His educational initiatives continue to make significant contributions to producing skilled human resources with an excellent reputation for quality.
Dr. HBM Iqbal has long been dedicated to expanding women’s education and bringing marginalized communities into the mainstream of development.
