Royal University of Dhaka (RUD) and ZAARA Sign MoU to Pave the Way for Skilled Manpower Development

Shadab Hasin,DHAKA: The Royal University of Dhaka (RUD) and ZAARA, a prominent travel and tourism agency, have signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate practical knowledge acquisition for RUD students and equip them to become skilled professionals in the global market.

A discussion meeting was organized on the occasion at the university’s Conference Hall on Sunday. This agreement will enable RUD students to gain practical expertise in crucial areas, including Air Ticketing, Visa Processing, and Hotel Reservations.

The event was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. A N M Meshquat Uddin, as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of enhancing student competence and the university’s burgeoning position, while also expressing gratitude to the ZAARA company for undertaking this practical initiative.

Professor Dr. Md Abu Bakar Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and Acting Controller of Examinations, emphasized the need for action: “Both parties must sincerely commit to taking practical steps to play a pioneering role in developing skilled manpower for Bangladesh in the global market, without being limited to mere formalities.”

During the ceremony, Engineer Firoz Tarique, Managing Director of ZAARA, assured the students of providing all possible support and practical training opportunities.

Md. Mashiur Rahman, Deputy Registrar and Registrar In-Charge, signed the MoU on behalf of the university and delivered the welcome address to the guests.

Among other speakers, Associate Professor Murad Hasan, Head of the BBA Department, stressed the importance of nurturing students to become future entrepreneurs. Aminul Ashraf, Head of the HMT Department, expressed optimism, stating that the agreement with ZAARA would significantly aid students in acquiring real-world experience.

Also present were ZAARA’s CEO Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Human Resource Manager Shah Alam, Manager (Sales & Marketing) Rakibul Alam Shakil, along with faculty members and students from the BBA and HMT Departments.

The event was successfully anchored by Mitanur Rahman, Lecturer of the HMT Department. This MoU is expected to open up new avenues for the career progression of Royal University of Dhaka students.
