Bridging the Gap: Royal University Students Dive into Real-World Operations at ROMO Group

Dipu Siddiqui, Dhaka : In a significant move to align academic learning with industry standards, the Department of Business Administration at the Royal University of Dhaka (RUD) recently conducted a comprehensive industrial tour at the facilities of ROMO Group.

The visit provided a rare “behind-the-scenes” look at the complexities of large-scale industrial operations, allowing students to step out of the lecture hall and into a high-functioning corporate environment.

First-Hand Exposure to Industrial Excellence

During the tour, students observed the intricate layers of ROMO Group’s operational workflow. The experience focused on four critical pillars of the business: Production Systems: Observing the lifecycle of a product from raw material to finished goods.Quality Control: Understanding the rigorous testing standards required to remain competitive.Management Structure: Learning how various Departments coordinate to meet organizational goals.Supply Chain & Logistics: Analyzing how the company navigates the challenges of the modern market.

Learning from the Leaders

The tour was highlighted by an interactive session with the top leadership of ROMO Group. Mr. Mohammad Mohsin, CIP, Chairman of ROMO Group, personally met with the delegation, offering inspiring words regarding the future of Bangladeshi industry and the importance of professional resilience.

Key insights were also shared by Mr. Amin Rahman, Executive Director (Factory), who detailed the technicalities of factory management,Mr. Mohive Ullah, Executive Director (SCM & Production), who discussed the importance of efficient supply chain strategies,Mr. Zamir Uddin Mishir, Head of HR, who provided a roadmap for students on the soft skills and cultural fit required in today’s corporate world.

Strengthening Academic-Industry Ties

Faculty members from the Royal University emphasized that such initiatives are vital for “bridging the gap” between theoretical frameworks and practical application. By witnessing the challenges of a competitive market firsthand, students are better equipped to transition into their future careers.
